Learning to Cope! - Updated ! ! !

Today is my Mother-in-Law's 77th birthday!
A first event without her husband by her side.
We hope that she will learn to accept her new life and find a new purpose, what ever that might be!
I guess there will be many firsts over the next year.
Hope that we will be able to help her and be of support to her during these hard times that will certainly come her way!
For starters, tonight we are taking her out for dinner, together with Wally's sister and husband.
In the next few weeks she will also have to decide whether or not she will move again.
The Menno Hospital has given her the option to move into the Menno Home.
At this point she is not interested, although, she would like a private room in the Hospital but this could take a while, because she will have to go on a waiting list.
I guess there will be a lot of changes coming our way, in the next while!
Thinking that we will all have to learn to cope, together!
We are trying to acquire a taste for this new Sandwich!

So, we took Mom out for dinner at the ABC on Marshall Rd. in Abbotsford.
Mom with her Birthday Cake and Candle!

I think that she had a reasonably good day that started off with breakfast out with friends and a birthday party at the home in the afternoon and a lot of visitors over the whole day.
After dinner there was another first!
We went back her old apartment where Kathie & her husband now live!
That was very hard for her, as well as, for the rest of us that were there!
She looked into every room, closet and cupboard. She wandered from window to window!
And, she cried!
There really wasn't much we could say or do!
We knew that this first one would be hard and it was!
So far this Sandwich is not to my liking, at all! Especially when she makes comments like wishing she had died years ago or that she could die sooner rather than later.
It hurts Kathie and Wally having to listed to their Mom talk like that, and the little ones surely don't understand what Oma is talking about!
I hope and pray that Mom will learn to cope!
SOON!

For everyone's sake!

That bite is sure tough to chew and swallow. Praying for you as you are being the 'tenderized' filling and for Wally's mom to find joy as she is 'waiting'. May God's peace and love hold you all and know that God's time is perfect.
