What would you give to view the world again with the eyes of a child?
Today, most of my day was spent in fun volunteer work!!... playing with our grandchildren, in particular our grandson!
What an imagination he has!
We played store and mechanic; we bought stuff and we fixed cars.
We made imaginary phone calls and had imaginary friends come and buy things.
A day like this is the lighter side of the sandwich!
It's so much fun to observe and watch the little computer work inside his head. To play along and make suggestions that he either accepts or declines depending on where his imagination is leading him.
Sometimes there is this far away look in his eyes as he spins his stories and at other times he looks at you and smirks at a suggestion that you've just made.
Makes you feel like you've totally missed the mark!
These are the events that make life fun and help you remember what it was like to be young and carefree.
It helps when you have to scrape the darker side of the sandwich in order to make it eatable!
A few hours of imagination time with a youngster, is the stuff that memories are made off!
The blessings and hardships of being sandwiched, between aging parents, children and grandchildren! Living Life to the fullest, by the Grace of the Almighty! Everyday, ordinary experiences in Words & Pictures.
